The Nesting System Method™ is an integrative therapeutic approach I developed to support clients with structural dissociation, including dissociative identity disorder (DID), other specified dissociative disorder (OSDD), and complex trauma. Grounded in the principles of EMDR therapy and informed by the Theory of Structural Dissociation, this method uses intentional, continuous slow bilateral stimulation to regulate the nervous system, promote connection with parts holding dissociated material, and deepen internal communication between parts.
In dissociative systems, trauma processing often requires more than standard protocols. The Nesting System Method™ creates a felt sense of safety and stability, allowing clients to connect with protective and wounded parts, support ego-state collaboration, and gradually increase adaptive information flow throughout the system. In other words, internal communication with dissociative parts is enhanced, collaboration within the system is strengthened, and ego state stability is increased: creating the foundation for safe and effective trauma processing.
This method is currently being used both clinically and as a foundation for upcoming professional training for therapists working with complex trauma and dissociation.
